Avatars

This is just a quick update, on the off chance any of my friends check this site!

I made a few avvies. I want to upload one onto Iconator, but have run into a few problems:

One, I don't know which one is more aesthetically pleasing/amusing to more people. I think all of them are pretty funny, but I detest people who upload mutliple versions of basically the same avatar. XP It's like cheating! So, dilemma for me.

Two, I don't know which one will get me in LESS trouble. I'm not sure how touchy Iconator is about drugs, but they definitely aren't school, right? Drugs are just touchy, even when indirectly referred to in jest.

So, I'm asking for second opinions. Comments are very much appreciated. :3 (And kinda mandatory. Do it. Seriously.)

Okay, so I am not really indirectly refering to anything- but still! At least I'm not advertising them.

Jumpin' Rope...

... and makin' comics. Yup, that's me. I totally jump rope all the time.

((Not really.))

So! I haven't updated in forever. ^.^;;; Bad me. But this summer has been very distracting! It's not (entirely) my fault!

First of all, I got a job. It saps time. It does!

Also, I can drive now. This means my parents want me to do all sorts of errands for them. Sigh.

Then! Then! There is summer homework for Kez, which I still haven't finished, despite the fact that school starts in less than a week. Bad Ivy, bad!!

Last, I have a giant stack of books to read. But no one has any sympathy for me in THAT department.

And marching season is starting soon... sigh.

Oooh, here's a big rant! Remember Brett Favre? Of course you do. He was the Packers star player for years, but he retired last spring. It was very emotional for all cheeseheads involved, but it was a respected decision. He was getting kinda old for a foot ball player. But then, weeks ago, he decided he wasn't retiring! Nope! He was coming back to play football, presumably with the Packers! Well, good. Great, right? Except NO.

The manager of the Packers (and someone else) didn't like him. So they SOLD his contract. To the Jets.

x.X

The Packers sold their star quarterback. My mind, she is blown.

And very mad. Poor Favre!

Well, anyway. You have a comic! This is good. I'm not sure if I have mentioned this before to anyone, but I am thinking once I wind up this lesson I move on to smaller comics. Oh, they'll still be full page ones. The stories will just be mini, one or two page ones. I'm finding I am having trouble keeping interest in the longer storylines, so we'll see how my new plan goes. I am fairly optimistic!

My schedule for next year looks pretty good! I have someone I like in most of my classes! :3 I have to talk to my councelor when school starts, but I'll worry about that later. What raises my ire NOW is that I have another class with my little sister. >:( BESIDES band, at this moment, I have Principles of Business with her as well.

That may be ANOTHER reason to see my councelor.

That is all, I believe!

The Ol' Fourth... Yup...

Apparently, I have been EXTRA lazy lately, because not only have I not blogged, I have drawn very little and actually done MORE homework than fun summer stuffs. What's wrong with me?

Well, I do have some art now, even if the subject is... hmm. Five days old. Not bad, considering it is in the color! Wooo!

In other news! My Zune is back. There is still a little crack on the case, but the screen works beautifully, and it plays music! So I'm not going to complain. :3 My zune is back, my zune is back, my zune is back~

Hmm. I need to come up with a name for that thing.

In other news, I still have a LONG way to go to finish my Kez homework, and meanwhile summer is over halfways over. O.O HATE. FREAK OUT. I JUST realized that.

I should work on that.

Meanwhile, my reading list is just PILING up, and I can't get motivated there, either. Grah.

I need to write, too! I know! I know!

:3 I don't wish to jinx it, but I DO have something of a job interview tomorrow, which is major sweetness. (THANK YOU, ASHEY!) *crosses fingers* Making sandwiches isn't my IDEAL job, but the hours sound pretty good for a first job. I'll take what I can get!

If I haven't mentioned it to you yet, I recieved my ACT scores, and I got a whopping 28. ^.^;; One point up from last time. Well, at least it went UP, right? Right?! In any case, I'll probably take it again this fall. A thirty would be preferable. :3

Continuing on my subject jumping, I have discovered that poison ivy is NOT nice! But I am not nearly as allergic to it as some people. Little bumps, redness, and minor itching. No swelling, no blood, and I don't want to chew my leg off. I think this means I should be thankful, non? I've heard of some people who react VERY badly to the stuff. I don't, but now I can tell you all from personal experience: don't touch poison ivy, even on accident. Not fun stuff.

Oh! I've been going to the Animal Shelter a lot lately and just helping out. Good volunteering hours. Anyone who wants to go with me should give a holler: the kitties and puppies would love the attention, as would your future college applications. It's fun! You can come in any time you want (assuming the place is open) and just cuddle! The people there don't interrogate you.

Well, I think I have rambled enough for one post. I think I have covered all the major happenings for the past couple weeks!

Well, today has been a day of mixed victories and defeats.

So, yeah. I'm back from my trip! It was okay. Saw the family. Twelve minute wedding! :D Best thing ever. My cousin Paul and my new cousin Sara get mucho kudos for the very short wedding.

I DID do some art. And Nicole... authographed one of the pages in my sketchbook. The girl does have a sense of humor, I'll give her that.

I drove alone today! That was very nice. I picked up my sister from her volunteer gig at an elementary school, and picked up our dog Sadie from her stay at the vet's office. Nothing to report there besides the shock of my parents, who probably expected me to be traumatized, or the car to be broken.

And now, the bigger news than that. I gots a car.

:3

Okay, not PRECISELY true. It's another 'family' car. It is not exclusively 'mine'. It was bought, however, exactly BECAUSE I can drive now, and am expected to do a lot of it, and therefore need a car in order to become my parent's personal chauffer/slav- I mean, help with errands.

Either way, TOTALLY a victory. A Tahoe, for anyone who is in the know. For everyone else, think a mini suburban. Silvery-goldy, and a... '98 or a '99. Can't remember which. Looks like new, though.

So, where is the defeat, I am sure my readers are wondering? Well, I was riding my bike this evening. I fell. Scraped up my knee. Palms of my hands hurt. My hip is probably bruised. Duke Sebastian is okay, and my biker-dignity escaped with only minor bruising.

That isn't the defeat.

The crushing defeat that REALLY makes me made is that I had my ZUNE attached to the hip I LANDED on. The music was playing before, during, AND after the crash, so I at first assumed it was a tough little thing and perfectly fine. I got in the house, glanced at the screen, turned it off, and went to go make sure my knee wouldn't bleed on the carpet anymore. I looked at it more closely when I went upstairs again to retire to my computer desk, turned on my Zune, and the minor cracks on the top of the screen hid below it a SPIDER WEB of mini cracks. -.-;; No screen. No picture. NO idea what I'm doing.

It plays music fine, though.

*TOTALLY PISSED OFF FACE HERE*

Both my sister and Court says there is hope, however, and the screen may come back if I leave it alone for a while. I WISH that made me feel better. Mad at myself doesn't even begin to describe it. The thing is practically new!

We'll see in a couple of days. Grr.

Grades came in!! ALL A's FOR SEMESTER! W000!!

Vegetation

So, I'M leaving tomorrow!!

Big surprise, non?

My cousin is getting married~ :3 I hardly ever get to see this side of my family, so it'll be interesting to say the least. The conversations usually involved, "Oh, I know you? Yes, I know you! A hug? Already? Okay!"

So, we're driving all day tomorrow, partying Saturday and Sunday, and driving back Monday. LOTS of time in the car. At least we're used to it.

Oh, our blue suburban collapsed! Dad's getting it repaired, though Heaven knows WHY. That this is literally on its last wheels. At this point, the only way we could POSSIBLY make money off that thing is by removing its internal organs and selling them on the black market. At this point, fixing it again is like giving the man without legs stilts so he can deliver your mail for a little longer.

Weird analogy, but I think it gets my point across.

Anyway, this is just a post to say I'll be gone for four days! And I'm leaving you with a doodle. Undoubtedly, I will have more doodles when I return from my journey.

^-^ I haven't even STARTED on my summer homework yet. However, I have made a pretty good dent in Dominic Deegan's archives. :3 GOOD comic. Must... finish... before... I leave....

That is all!

BEHAVE.

First update of the summer! And first in a long time, too... Sorry about that! I choose to blame finals. It's all their fault.

So, yes! It's a comic! Be happy!!

I loved drawing Awrthyr's attic. That place is full of the most random things. Hobgoblins, I think, are pack rats. They like collecting strange things.

The next comic will hopefully come relatively soon... no school/homework, you know. All that jazz. Also! After this plotline, I am going to veer away from big long Lessons for a while. See how entertained I can be by just doing one or two page gags when the inspiration strikes me. I think my productivity will go up.

BEENISH IS LEAVING!! T.T Sad sad. I hope she doesn't expect me to have fifty pages of ANYTHING done when she gets back, because it's not happening~~

COURTNETTY IS LEAVING!! T.T I know she doesn't expect me to have much done. She's realistic.

There are probably other things I could write about here, because it has been a long time since I have actually written anything, but I'm not remembering any of it right now!! Which means, I'm done ranting.

Comment on the comic!!

Cutie hearts and Bill boards.

I was up seeing my aunt's wedding this weekend. ^-^ She has a brand new last name now. And a husband! Miracles never cease. It means I get an uncle!

Anyway, the ceremony was beautiful, and I loved her dress. :3 I also got to see my... cousin? Second cousin? Whatever. Her name is Michelle, and it was good to see her again. The alternative would have been having NO ONE my age to talk to. Or even remotely my age. Or my sisters' ages. Honestly, my family is made up of old people, the marrying-age type, and a few stray toddlers. It's a little bit depressing.

Not that I don't love them. Just saying.

On this trip, I drew a few piccies, because I had a bit of down time. Actually, a LOT of down time. One is kinda cute, and the other is just me being... well. I'm sure there is a good adjective somewhere for what I'm being, but I'll leave it up to you to find it. Enjoy.

Also! I saw the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie over the weekend. It was adorable! I want the soundtrack now. :3 I loved it. The plotline was pretty predictable, but in this case that didn't make the movie any less entertaining. After all, the movie was made for kids, basically. They don't have to dig too deep.

And Simon is just adorable. What more do you need, right?

I told the witch doctor I was in love with you~

That is all! Tata!
