Penguin meat is delicious.
In case you couldn't tell, I am back from the land of cheese!!
The ride there was the nightmare of all car-rides. First, an hour south of St. Louis, our battery basically dies. There are fancier words for it, but in the end we had to replace it. Took all of four hours. DEFINITLY fun. Then, as if we hadn't lost enough time, about an hour from Rockfort (it's in northern Illinois, you ignorant peoples) our front left tire blows. So, in the dark, foggy night at the side of an interstate, Dad gets to learn how to change a tire on a Suburban! A nerve wracking experience, to be sure. We lost another forty minutes there.
Of course, once we got there (at eleven at night. We left at seven. This kills us all) everything was dandy! I got to see basically all the relatives I KNOW, and a bunch of the others that I KINDA know, and a lot more people who I am sure I am related to, but don't even know there NAMES!! It was great. Hung out with Michelle, Tommy and Taylor for the party on Dad's side of the family (Tommy and Taylor are midgies. Except Tommy is now in seventh grade. o.O I cannot express my shock enough.) And, for the party on mom's side of the family, I hung out with basically everyone, cause I KNOW all those guys. Kevin (a cousin) decided my dad is batman, and that's why we moved to Joplin.
Also, Mom bought us adorable chocolate-mountain cupcakes from a bakery. They were in the shape of penguins. :D I loved them! Pure chocolate. I grossed mes soeurs out by describing the chocolate mouse, penguin guts I was enjoying. My sisters couldn't take so much sweet. Hense, I love penguin meat. And I got my SISTERS' penguin meat, too!! My sisters have no appreciation. (The brains are the most delicious.)
Those were the highlights! The trip home, we discovered that the trip up to Wisconsin can either be ungodly long (fourteen hours), or can be quickened through sheer willpower and less bathroom breaks (ten hours). The two average out to the estimated length of the trip for the rest of the world. *rolls eyes*
And that brings us to this morning! Finished with gifts, tres happy!! :D :D :D I won't bore you with the details. Except one detail. My sisters got ipod nanos. They have crossed over to the dark side. I am only glad that I am not forced to compromise my own beliefs, because I have had multiple talks with dad about their ultimate evil. Sigh.
Merry Christmas! Happy Eid!! All that jazz!!!

Umm. Yeah. It's cold outside.
Anyway, honestly the most sad I am about this weather is the MASSIVE amount of tree damage going on around here... and basically everyhwhere else. Our poor trees! T.T It makes me so sad... darn ice...
((Don't take that in the wrong way, Ice Goddess. I love you anyway. Please don't go... bring snow next time, 'kay?))
On that note, I have some awesome sauce piccies to show.
For the record, you have to turn the second to last picture on its side. But look at my poor trees! My poor beeches! T.T I love those trees...
Sigh. It's a little sad... but hopefully, the trees will recover in time... but it's funny to me how the catastrophe of the trees drives home the mild emergency of an ice storm more than the loss of power to thousands of homes does. ^.^;; Aw well. I guess I just have my priorities...
On another note, I colored yesterday. You all should be proud! I love how snowdays give us so much free time. What kinda DOES annoy me, though, is now that the internet is back, I have to do one thing, and probably will do much less of another:
I will have to do minor research for Kez's class. Dang my conscious.
And, now that the internet is back up, I will be MUCH less focused on my thesis paper. As if I didn't have enough trouble starting on that thing when I DIDN'T have an unlimited source for distraction at my finger tips. God dangit.
Anyway, not much else happening here. Oh, wait. My lights don't work again. And I'm pretty sure the speakers on my computer are shot, too. Power goes off, lights don't work. Power goes off five or six more times, my speakers his and buzz at me, and won't play music. Oh, the inconveniences!
That's all!

Ruff H2Os A-hed.
Either way, it's an astute sentence. ^.^;; NOT sure how much arting I will be doing in the immediate future, with finals coming up and a thesis paper due in Kez's. @.@ I feel dizzy just thinking about it. ... Of course, I'm not implying that I generally due as much art as possible even WHEN I have free time. What can I say? I am American, there fore I am lazy.
On the other hand, I'm happy. Not a genius Asian or Finnish teen or something, but pretty darn happy. Who thinks that a bad trade off, considering I'm not anywhere near dumb either?
Eh. That's just a blip of what my mind has been mulling over off and on for a while. I'll stop now.
Back to art! This IS an art post. I hadn't mentioned that yet, had I? Bad Ivy. Anyway, I DO have art, to some extent! Prepatory stuff for the next chapter. Ava's new outfit, and a sketchy junky thing. It's the basis for the next title page... I think it's pretty funny... :3
Last Christmas parade tomorrow! Hallejuha. I love concert season in the band. It is SO nice to start the day playing music. Infinitely relaxing.
Oh! And on the note of Christmas. My favorite part (after stuff like eggnog) of Christmas at my place is the decorations. My mom REALLY gets into it. At this piont, the middle floor is barely recognizable. And it isn't the cheesey Wal-mart decorations with cardboard/plastic Santa Clause figures with neon Merry Christmas lights either. She likes making her own stuff. Physically going out and buying a naked wreath, hunting down pretty ribbons and doo-dads, and making her own stuff. Garlands, wreaths, mini-trees, pillows, you name it. I'd volunteer to decorate more, but I don't think I would do her stuff half the justice. :3
Okay, done being boring now! Merry Christmas!

Homework is for AFTER dinner
I had been thinking, I don't want to start a whole new Lesson without finishing up the last one. This means that, starting last night and ending now, I have uploaded all sixteen pages of the last story arc onto deviant now!! :3 This is an amazing feat.
This means that, while this is an 'art' post, there is nothing new. Just a bunch of things you haven't seen in a really long time. Maybe they'll give you a chuckle. Also, I would like to say that I am irrationally proud of how much my style has changed artistically from the beginning of this Lesson.
Real Life.
TRAITORS.
Great Lummox the Hippo.
Shotgun.
Henry the VIII.
Friendship.
And thus, the entire story arc is now readily accessable right from your very computer screens. Amazing, non? :D Now, maybe someday I'll upload the rest... o.O Probably not.
Oh, and major kudos to anyone who can find the very minor outfit change I inadvertedly made. ^.^;; Too many details!! I forget sometimes!! And it isn't Fey's hair being down, or Mugen's hair cut. That was done courtesy of the trunk fairies, remember? They love cutting hair.
Ummmm.... I guess that's all!! The next lesson won't start for a while, as I have a cover page to do and a few outfits I have yet to design... no complaining. :D
Now, I should PROBABLY do my homework. XP Nasty stuff, but necessary. I have tests tomorrow...
Merry Christmas!

If you haven't read my LAST comic, scroll down. Second in Three Days!! >.<
While I was drawing the comic, I realized that I've been drawing these guys in the same outfits since LAST YEAR. o.O Been working on this story arc for a LONG TIME. Craziness!! So glad to be done!! It's been rewarding, I think. I've improved!! Like, *whispers* I'm drawing hands now. It's amazing.
And this also means it's good bye to crazy police man and Cashier Boy. Sad sad. They were fun, I guess. They're poor, love struck souls will have to fade into non existence. I am satisfied with how I drew them, though. :3 I don't usually draw males. Or hands. *pokes the hands*
Heck, I like how this whole comic is drawn. Very nice!!
Oh, on a side note, if you don't check my blog regularly, I DID post a comic two or three days ago. WHICH MEANS, if you haven't read it, *coughcough*KatErin*coughcough* you need to scroll down. Of course, maybe you HAVE read it, but didn't comment or tell me about it at all, which is mean of you. >:P I am a CAT. I need PRAISE. Savvy?
Done whining!! Merry Christmas, world!!
Gee, what else... not much since I last posted. I don't want to go to school tomorrow. I want snowdays! And if I have to go to school tomorrow, I DON'T want it to snow, because of a stupid parade in the evening. Ever tried to march in snow? Me neither. I REALLY DON'T WANT TO TRY IT.
Umm... not much else!! I have a kitty, and I'm tired!!

RVPD: Rampaging Vampires Police Department
I wasn't actually planning on doing a comic today, what with our having guests and all, but I had one of those moments of true brilliancy, where the light of truth is flashed before your eyes, and I just had to do something about it. There goes six hours. It's my new favorite, I believe...
Sorry, Ranna.
In actuality, I would have had this comic posted, oh... an hour and a half ago, but just as I was finishing the final touches, my program shut down, and I hadn't saved for hours. This has happened before, of course, but this was the first time I actually felt the need to hyperventilate. x.x DEATH. Either way, now it is posted.
And, because Blogger has deleted half my post about five times now when I try to use the link, here's the address: http://ivyrosetaira.deviantart.com/art/RVPD-70502967
Stupid Blogger.
In other news, I am no longer sitting in the dark!! For those of you who I haven't whined to yet, my entire light/fan unit stopped working, oh... two weeks ago, at least. Finally, Dad realizes that it's so screwed up that a few new parts and rearranged wires isn't going to do anything, so he spend a good part of this afternoon turning my room into a forest of ladders, tools, wires, and other small metal bits. Now, I have a new fan, and cool light! And, because it doesn't provide quite enough light, I also have a corner lamp. *shrug* I didn't feel I needed it, but Dad did. Whatever.
Thanksgiving was delicious. :3 Yay America! My mom, Nicole, and cousin Michelle went shopping today, on Black Friday. Stupid souls. Seemed to enjoy themselves. ... Dad just shouted an expletive, and we realize that he has inadvertedly burned his traditional, secret-recipe turkey soup to a crisp. Feel bad for him, but, I never really liked the soup, so!
Enjoy the comic! It burned six hours of my life.

Yay For Red Mechanical Pencils~
So, this blog DOES have art to go along with it, but no comic. Be sad. And it's a new character! Who is not actually a character. Just a random person. Be sad. But it is art! Be happy!
So, I did this because I was wondering what other species of creature I might have in my world. ^-^ So, what would a, say, demoness look like? Interesting question. Scarier than Mugen, how's that?
The other occasion of this arting being, well, I wanted to draw something in pencil, then finish it in red. :D 'Cause it looks cool, of course!! So I did. I rather like my little doodle. Done with that~
The holidays are coming up! w00t! I am having relatives I have met... once... before coming tomorrow, so that will be fun. And, for Christmas, the amazing thing. Be ready. Are you ready? Of course you're not ready. You'll never be ready.
But I will tell you anyway! We're heading up to the cheese state for the holidays! ^-^ From the Thursday before to Christmas Eve we will be up visiting my OTHER relatives who I have met with probably... oh... I could count the number of times on two hands, probably. It'll be fun!! Minus, you know, the twenty-four hour round trip. @.@
((On a side note, this means my chances of seeing snow this holiday season is FANTASTIC. Be happy for me!!))
Um, what else... Not much! The Great Gatsby sucks. I'm really tired. The First Earth environmentalist group is a little too extreme for my taste. That's all!!

3-D Art Presto!

Anyway, in my 3-d art class, we started on clay a long time ago! And we did paint trays, and then we did these platters. Both projects I met with some trepidation, because as a general rule, I'm clay-retarded. But! This platter actually turned out pretty well. Well enough to feel it worthy of 'art', and what is my blog for if it is not to post the things I do artistically (and sometimes get praised for)? So, ooh and aah over the platter I brought home on the bus today!
((On a side note, particulary scary experience. The bus was crazier than usual, because we had a sub driver. The high school preppy girls wouldn't stop screaming in high, shrilly, I-want-to-just-KILL-them voices, one of them was even dancing in a lewd fashion, everyone was screaming, throwing the candy, and no one could keep their butts in their seats. I was terrified something would happen to my latest baby, but I think I dished out enough Glares-Of-Ultimate-Doom-and-Suffering to keep them away. XP))

Aaanyway, enjoy, mon amies. Remember, cutting is bad!!!

Bark, roof, snarl, grr...
Personally, I really like this comic. It got a few chuckles from my inner fatalist. Sadly, no one else in my family appreciates it. My sister poo-pooed it, and my mother never understands my comics. -.-;; It's sad. I feel very underappreciated. Are my comics so hard to understand...? From the way my mom acts, you'd think I was the first person on earth to ever think of telling a story with pictures.
Anyway, what else... oh! I unconsciously referred to God as 'Her' the other day. I was very proud of myself. :D Mom was impressed, too, but I got younger Midgy Who Goes to Christian School very upset. It was nice.
Oh! I saw Hairspray today!! ^__^ It was cute!! I loves it. The music and dancing were fun, and there wasn't so much drama that I wanted to leave the room!! Now I want the soundtrack. I could have seen HP 5 or Ratatouille, both of which I want to see REALLY BAD, but I think it was a good trade. Definitely a feel-good movie.
Hmm. I have decreased my ridiculously long reading list. It's still really long, but less so now. And my homework only suffered a little from it!! In the short-term, anyway. I'm worried a little about the long-term. Hehe.
So, it's a good thing I got this thing done NOW, and not during the week!! Right? I know you all will appreciate the irony of the characters' current situation than my mother or my sister are likely too. :P
I know there was more I wanted to rant about, but I can't think of it right now. :P If I remember, maybe I'll post later. For now, I'm going to bed!

Awrthyr
Actually, today is probably not your birthday. In fact, I have no idea when your birthday actually IS. But, I am guessing it's near at hand as your party was last Saturday, and, heck, you probably won't see this for ages after your birthday anyway, because you never update your own blog, let alone look at your friends'!! Nonetheless, this post is in honor of you. Don't let it swell your head.
So, I actually drew this... oh, geez louise, it was probably monthes ago. When Ben first bullied me into making a character for him. And, all things considered, I was VERY kind about it. He even gave me all sorts of nasty ideas of what to do with his character!! It could have been so fun!! But I restrained. ((For the record, I had pretty much decided what and who Ben would be before he gave me the ideas. He wasn't in any real 'danger'. Not that I let him know THAT. I'm not THAT nice.))
But, as Ben's birthday may be happening in the near future or already happened in the near past, the lesson where he is introduced is almost here anyway, and I haven't posted in a while anyway, voila:
Awrthyr, the hobgoblin.
I actually really liked how this picture turned out. And for a while his name was Jaymz... but then I changed it, cause, you know, I actually MET someone named James. I know you all will understand. :D You'll all find out more about his actual character when the time comes, but as for what he looks like and species... well, it is set in stone, and is now public info. :P
Gee, other things that have been happening... I have been reading an INSANE amount of new books lately. I've just been in the mood, even though my homework might be suffering for it. Just a tad, though. I finished Wyvernhail!! I didn't predict the ending, but I loves it anyway. Not as good as Hawksong, but possibly better than Snakecharm. A very satisfying ending, overall.
And I know I should read Bloody Jack. T.T I'm sorry, but that book just TERRIFIES me. No cliff hangers, I know, but the last books have shaken any and all confidence I have in that series, as far as its ability to let me keep my sanity goes. It just isn't RIGHT.
((Yes, I know I'm a hypocrite. You can all shut up now.))
Let's see, anything else... not much! We've started studying actual rocks in Earth Science, which is different from what we were doing before. Before, we were studying MINERALS. There is a distinction.
I have decided that I actually have a sore throat, as opposed to just killing my voice from a very loud football game followed by a crazy day of mucho playing at the Maple Leaf. That kinda stinks. XP
That's all!! Wow, long post for me. Oh well!!

I'm forgetful!
I actually drew this a long while ago, and forgot to post it. ^.^;; Oops. It's just a quick sketch... you band geeks have already seen it. It's Lali's new outfit for the next Lesson.
Oh, and I went home early today, for those of you who didn't notice. I wasn't really sick... I just felt like crap. In an extreme way. The nurse actually did give me some tylenol (God's medicine for women), so by the time Mom arrived to take me home, I was actually feeling half alive, and maybe would have made it through the rest of the school day. At least irony was working WITH me that time.
So, Mom took me home. On the way, we got gyros for lunch! (Greece's edible gift to the world) So now, around two o'clock I am comfortable in my room, feeling like my chair is the most amazing place ever. I might actually take a nap...
Or go ride my bike. Bike riding is good for cramps.
Ivy, out.
((Oh, Bippy!! Eid Mubarik!! Right? I didn't catch you at school...))
Edit: As proof of exactly how out of it I was when I wrote this, I forgot to actually link the image. ^-^;; It's fixed now!

Haha.
Okay, it isn't a special occasion. But I feel like it, and the subject matter IS worthy.
This blog is about Le Petit Prince. The Little Prince, for those dunces who don't understand basic french. :P Anyway, we read the book, and then we watched the movie. THE MOVIE WAS SCARY. This book in and of itself was the definition of ODD, and the movie was odd and everything more. Are you wondering why you have never heard of The Little Prince movie before now? Why a person hasn't walked up to you and said, "Hey, do you remember that one part in The Little Prince? I laughed so hard!" Or heard people talking behind you on the bus, "I think my favorite part of The Little Prince is..."
I will tell you why you have not heard these things. It is because it is a BAD movie. Monty Python, Science Fiction Theatre bad. So bad, that you can't quite be sure if is real and true ineptitude of the writer, directer and actors that made it bad, or because that was the angle they WANTED.
If you have read The Little Prince, you will know right off that you can't just take the story for what it is. It's very symbolic (I think Exuperie actually wrote it as an allegory to his political beliefs). So, this writer took his book, and wrote it into a movie. But not just any movie. No, no, no. That would be too simple. This writer made it into a MUSICAL.
Be happy! It's a hat, you're a child, snake in the grass, and CLOSER and CLOSER and CLOSER....
You will not get that unless you watched the movie. It's basically the main themes from the most obnoxious songs in there strung together into one, long symbol of PAIN. *wince*
Of course, I found two good things out of this movie. Or at least, things that entertained me. One: Gene Wilder, the original Willie Wonka, was the fox. I wonder what he was doing there. o.O Anyway, he was his usual creepy self. It was nice.
The second thing is a quote. Now, when the Little Prince is traveling, he travels to many different, very small planets. One such very small planet has one man on it, and his planet is COVERED in books, in stacks as tall as trees. He is very excited to see the Little Prince, and starts asking him questions about where he comes from. But the Little Prince never answers questions he is asked, and instead asks what proffession he has. And what does he do in that proffession? The slightly crazy man answers:
"I make things up. That's my job. I'm a historian!"
At the time, it TOTALLY made my day.

Absolutely Terrifying.
So! A comic. Which means, as a reward to my hard work, I get to ramble a bit. :D
This one took a while... probably because of homework, and because I'm currently in one of those moods where I LOVE new books! So, this might have been up an hour ago if it weren't for Bippy. You can thank her for its relative lateness. :P
In other news, I'm REALLY tired. And REALLY hungry. T.T And I wanna ride my bike, except I have done NONE of my homework tonight... bad Ivy...
Oh, the comic! Right. Well, this one isn't one of my favorites, or certainly my best work, but it still has it's merits. :P (Notice the backgrounds~~ :D) I do have two things I love about it, though: the first being Lali in the last panel. I got her expression perfect. Also, I like Ava's hand. You know what I'm talking about- there's only one of them in this comic!! Enjoy!!
Oh noes! The cops!!

Good Morning? No, the sun isn't up yet...
Sooo tired.... EVIL KEZ DEATH OF DOOM TOMORROW. I hope everyone taking the test has life insurance. I feel like I should be studying history right now... except I'm not entirely sure WHAT I should study. He's basically making us cover, in one test, from 3000 BC to 1800 AD, if you think about it. I suggest you don't. It's rather terrifying.
Oh, right. I post when I have art, right? So, here is art. Nouveau chapitre, nouveau vetements. Elle est tres jolie, non? I like her new outfit. ^-^ I did it after the internet went out at our house, so obviously I didn't post it then. For those of you who don't speak french, I mentioned before that with the upcoming new Lesson (chapter), comes a new outfit for all the characters. (Yes, this current Lesson will probably only last a few more pages- five max.)
So, enjoy mon amies. Get a good night's rest tonight, DON'T spend it all studying. -.-;; That is an EXCELLENT way to get yourself killed. Sleep, dangit!

OH MY GOSH, BEHIND YOU!!
Right? Huh?
Anyway, so. This has been on my mind for a while. If I don't think a character is fun and satisfying to draw, then I change it. I'm usually hesitant to make a big change, because then I have people freaking out, and they are suddenly not capable of telling my characters apart (*coughcough*mymother*coughcough*). -.-;; I never change them much... different outfits for different days, sort of thing... but it happens enough that I'm cautious about it. I want people to be able to easily understand my comic, right? When they can't keep the characters straight, it's hurtful to my artistic pride. T.T
So, anyway, I'm careful. But this has been eating at me for a while. Fey's style has become boring. It's been boring to me for a while. And, usually, I am even more careful about messing with my own character, because, well, it's MINE. If I were to change her too often on a whim, I would feel like I wasn't paying enough attention to my other characters. -.-;;
Also, I love this hairstyle, but I feel parts of it are used often enough in other comics that I wasn't being original. Oh, well. Done being angsty complainy artist now.
Sum up for those of you who skimmed: Fey got a makeover.
Conclusion: She will start looking like this next Lesson. Also, I'm pretty sure Mugen is going to keep her emo look... I really like that for her... not to mention, it's a blast to draw. :P Which is a huge factor in deciding how people look, as you all know.

It's A Proven Fact:
Pretty Girl + Dork Boy = Not a Coherant Conversation
Especially when said pretty girl is also shy. :D
What can I say? I'm evil. I know this will shock everyone, but I got this one done even faster than normal! Probably because the panels were all pretty easy, even as far as backgrounds go. The dialogue was inspiration that came to while I was riding my bike... yesterday? Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was yesterday. Originally, I really hadn't planned on using Cashier Boy so much.
Oh, this just occured to me, in case you were wondering. No, Cashier Boy is not Ben's character. Cashier Boy will probably die after this story line. If I choose to add in Ben's character, he will be funner to draw and write. Because, after all, I'll have to draw him a little more consistantly than Cashier Boy, right?
On side notes, Bet On It is a good song. As is What Hurts The Most (*have been obsessed with song for three days, in counting*).
Not much else... but seven thirty practice tomorrow!! This comment is only relevent if you are in band!! Squeee for happiness!!

A Concerned Friend.
I've had a REAL fun time of it today. *twitch* First, ton of Kez homework. I can handle that. No big deal, right? Just the normal. Even if the normal is staggering in an extreme way.
What REALLY bothers me? Either I copied my trig homework down wrong, or half the problems he assigned to us don't exist. *twitchtwitch* So, I don't have most of my 'assignment' done. Fun times. *wants to kill something*
Grah. And I STILL need to read the Scarlet Letter. But, on the bright side I HAVE officially started it, and it has piqued my interest. So hopefully it won't be so hard to pick up in the future.
All right, enough ranting... I know you all are waiting for me to post the linkie to my latest comic. :P I see through you all. This one took me three whole days to do... not because it's longer or more complex, mind. (Actually, as far as drawing it goes, it was. Just not very much so.) But, what usually happens is I dedicate an entire weekend afternoon, and have four hours to work on this thing and get it up. For the past couple of days, this has not been the case at all. (Again, GRAH.)
So, here it is. The beginning of the end of our little roadtrip. If only you all weren't so... exciteable. Or apathetic.

Emo Vampire
:D I know you are all shocked. She's updating?! With real art?! The sky must be falling. If it makes you feel any better, it isn't a comic, so the world isn't coming to a COMPLETE end. Just a smaller one.
But, about this art. It was one of those Inspirational Moments that a half hour later turned into an Inspired Work of Art. I freaked Court out during that time period, telling her that this was actually very less scary than my Twilight shojo page, but I don't think she was very reassured. I wonder why. :D
Anyway. I like the clothing. Which I did research for! Do not diss the hat. I LOVE the hat. It makes the whole outfit.
Art! It's fun.

If you want to laugh...
But, yeah. This is what I've been working on in my free time for the past... five days. Approximately. First, in my head, then, the coding. This is why I didn't do any art recently. Or do much reading. Or do my homework adequately.
Personally, I think it turned out perfect.
And, as we are all fans of Twilight, I think you'll all get it. :D Enjoy!
Oh, and if you don't comment, I'll eat your brains. I worked hard on that thing. :3

School Kills...
So, yes... I'm updating!! With a comic!! :D And now, a few of you are thinking... what? I've already seen this!! How annoying. Ivy, you slacker! Well, now I need to explain myself: If I see you people everyday, why am I posting the comic you have seen first-hand?
Well, I debated that too, and then I realized something. All the people who read my comic...? I don't see all of them everyday. Usually, it's thirty seconds in the hallway for people like... Kat, and Bippy... and then, now, not at all!! *waves at Ben, who is far, far away*
Basically, I'm going to try and post regularly for them. Because I'm nice!
((But not totally altruistic. I like showing people my comic in person because I can SEE THEIR REACTIONS. The reason I do the comic? I like seeing people's reactions. Preferably laughter. It's my milk, my gatorade, my inspiration. You people reading over the Internet? Can't see you. So, guess what? YOU GET TO COMMENT. Because, like most cats, I love being petted and cooed at. Otherwise, I hiss and scratch your hand. Would you like me to hiss at you? I thought not.))
Now I need to rant a little about this comic. :D It was FUN. And done in record timing, but you all don't care about that. What you people MAY notice is the backgrounds. :D Yes, I know I do lots of backgrounds in my comics. But these are different (the ones I did, anyway). The fact is, I did not HAVE to do such detailed backgrounds, but I DID. :3
Also, this comic came out a little different from what I had in my head prior. What happened was, as I was drawing it, I realized that in the scenario I had them in, they would say different things... so, instead of substantially moving the plot along, you got essentially two conversations that you could feasibly hear Kat and Bippy, or Court and Erin, having. Thems the breaks!!

I'm a bad girl...
As one of the officials of Sprance, I reserve the right to NOT be guillotined.
But, as it was the first day of school, I had to rant a bit. Not about anything bad, though!!
I am just convinced that I have every single, infamously crazy teacher in the entire school. I'm serious! Almost every teacher I have is maniacal evil in the same way: loves to torture their students with insanely hard projects, while making fun of them. Kez, Coach Mac, Whitney, Movick, Welling. Not including my less crazy teachers, Daniels and Castor (who has been known to be crazy on occasion). The funny thing was, mom looked at me with sympathy when I told her how I had all the crazy teachers in the school. Au contraire!! I'm not complaining.
I think it's hysterical. I may pull my hair out by the roots this year, but it will be hysterical. In a possibly crazy way. I just hope I don't die. Dying would be very bad at this point.
((Oh, and I just decided Daniels, my art teacher, may be crazy too. She requested we bring in a common household object tomorrow, which we will make into 'art'. I'm bringing a busted calculator. I'll never get this modern art stuff...))
Anyway, I think this year will be fun. :3 And exhausting. Especially with band. And then they want us to take on more activities!! O.o Hello people, I can't drive yet!! My parents have lives too!! They can't be forever carting me places!! I can only over-achieve so much, I'm sorry.
Okay, done ranting.

If You Have Not Read Eclipse, It Might Be A Good Idea To Not Read This
1: I just finished it. You'll understand.
2: Band is freakin' EXHAUSTING.
So, today was the last day of band camp... so glad it's over... glad to have met all the freshman, who are all awesome in their own special way. No, I'm not going to talk about band for the whole rant. No, I am not going to nag at A CERTAIN PERSON for not showing up at all... though I REALLY want to.
Anyway, Eclipse. That's what this rant was about, right?
It took me a while to finish, which isn't bad... I liked spreading it out a little. Now, for real, is when those of you who haven't read Eclipse need to stop reading. Really. Now. Don't read on.
I wasn't joking. Stop.
....
Okay, so today, during band? Ashy and I stopped in the library on our lunch break to read... got a lot of reading done. And, because we lost track of time, I was forced to stop on... lemme check... page 527, paragraph 7. Sometime, maybe now, when it's convenient, open your copy, and see where I was forced to put that book down for THREE HOURS. I swear to gosh almighty, I was SO MAD at Jacob. And a little sick. But that's me, overreacting. I'm not so mad at Jacob, now... I feel a little sorry for him. A little. But that's just me, I'm a sap!!
:3 So, Bella didn't change. But will!! w00t!! That makes me happy, because I love Edward more than I love Jacob... but I still feel sorry for him. A little.
I feel so less stressed now!! A combo of finished band camp, and finished Eclipse!! Now, I can go on believing that it's June in peace... until next Wednesday morning, six AM sharp.
Sorry, for those of you who didn't stop reading, and I spoiled the ending. I was in serious need of rant-age, and Court and Bippy were not on. So, what to do? I'll make it up to you by doing some new art soon. Promise. :P

Spoilers to Follow: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
So, this is my own tribute to the Era That Was Harry Potter - for it truly is over now, ladies and gents. T.T The books shall live on forever in our hearts and our bookshelves, but it is over!! It's surprisingly hard to believe.
Enjoy the tribute- I call it half a comic. I liked drawing it!! And I managed to do it in record time. I just wish REAL comics only took an hour to do... I'd do more of them for you guys. :3
Can you believe Nicole hasn't finished it yet? She's had it for, like... three whole days. o.O I can barely fathom. Little Sis #2 is supposed to have it next, but as she is leaving for camp in... -2 and a half hours, she can't complain that much. Hopefully, the SLOW READER in the family will be done by then.
See you good fluties at band camp tomorrow!!
Edit: For anyone who actually notices this here, I colored it. :3

Colorado! The magnificent! And golden!! One thousand years~ of color~
Oh, wow. So, I have three days I feel the need to spume about. Buckle up, kids!
The day before yesterday, we went to the nature and science museum in Denver, which was awesome. We saw Imax shows in the planetarium, and one about the Titanic. I also saw an exhibit about the Titanic- all sorts of authentic artifacts and junk. The one in Branson was better. We all got passports (totally stole that gimic), only, no one died. Everyone they passed out lived. Boring I say!! Boring!! And their gift shop only had one version of the Heart of the Ocean. Go figure.
Also that day, we explored Denver downtown. They had part of sixteenth street permanently closed off to display one of the coolest open air strip malls that I have ever seen. Ever. They had second and third levels to it, too. We had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is vaguely overrated, but still cool. I got a shirt.
Now, for yesterday. By far the coolest day. We drove through the MOUNTAINS. We got up to 12000 feet!! Got out and walked, saw elk and a marmot and I climbed rocks!!! I really can't explain how awesome the view was from that high up. Really exiliherating. I loved the terrain, the tundra, that high up. Sixty degrees, sparse foliage, and lots of rocks sticking up out of the ground at various hieghts and angles!! Some of them looked like giant mushrooms. Those mountains took an entire day to go through, which was an entire day of sitting in the car, granted. But SO cool.
Today, we also went through the mountains. Except we did it on horseback! Two hours through the mountains. I loved it. The high atmosphere hasn't gotten to me yet- all I am is a little drowsy. The horses were amazing. I had a white and brown apolusa (sp?) named Freckles. Nicole had a mean little pony who walked like he was drunk named Blackie (tried to kick Freckles, and when we were going up and down the rocks? Winced everytime he put his feet down. Ankles bent, and I had to remember that he had three other feet to catch himself). And Erin had a pony named Mexico that needed many potty breaks. Mom and Dad's horses were less interesting- but watching Dad get off his horse was painful and funny at the same time!! He really needs to get his back looked at by a specialist, poor guy. ^.^;; He's out in the pool now.
After that, we found one of the little touristy, mountain towns that all look suspiciously like Eureka Springs and shopped around. You know, looking in all the cutesy little shops, getting christmas presents for relatives, and other junk. There were a couple cute little art galleries too. They were fun!! And then...
There was the bike shop.
Now, I need to explain a few things. First of all, in Colorado? EVERYONE BIKES. EVERYONE. NOT JOKING. You can glance up out the window from any given place, and you will see someone biking. A small child, a woman in a skirt, and a BUNCH of serious bikers in full biker attire with seriously expensive racing bikes. They have their own lane on most of the roads around here. It's really awe inspiring. So, when I say bike shop, I say this shop will put any and all bike shops in and around Joplin to SHAME.
So, we stopped in. They had some seriously competitive prices on some really good bikes, according to Dad. It was fun. So, we browsed around in this shop twelve hours from home...
... and I came out with a new bike.
It wasn't planned!! We're twelve hours from home, have a ton of luggage, and now we also have a SERIOUSLY COOL mountain bike to lug home as well. Talk about bad planning!! But I have been needing a new bike... Sir Boa is getting too small for me. ^.^;;; I have christened my new bike Sebastian. He's a duke.
So, that was the highlight of my day. o.O I was as little overwhelmed, walking around this little, cute, downtown area, crowded with tourists, walking next to my bike. I wasn't as out of place as you might think... others were riding their bikes, too. ^.^;;
I had considered telling you all that I had broken my leg on the horse trail through the mountains, but the bike bought twelve hours from home blew it out of the water. I am feeling sufficiently spoiled. :D
Tomorrow, bright and early, we're heading for home. And we're losing an hour coming back, and then I swear I will be getting the latest HP book or SOMEONE WILL DIE. I've seen it around town at least five times. They were selling it for forty five dollars at Target. Wow!!
Okay, enough spume. Ivy, out!

I'm in Colorado!
Not much to tell. Eeeeewww. Long car ride. Towards the end, we saw mountains. o.o They were cool. Also, we drove by a dog food factory? They make dog food. I COULD SMELL THE DOG FOOD. FOR FIVE MINUTES. I was struggling between being totally disgusted and being amazed. Considering I had been in the car eleven hours at that point, it was more nauseating than cool.
Ahh... There was a place called the Denver Coliseum. Yes. No, I did not spell the name wrong. It bothered me.
I think that's about it...... Yeah, that's about it. The mountains were cool. The dog food was weird. Our hotel room has a really hard couch. And I'm tired, though I have been sleeping all day. Ta!!
((The mountains were cool.))

Well, I feel... stupid. But that's not new.
The point of this? Oh. Right. Well, I figured I might not be able to all persons involved soon enough, so they might actually want to hear from me that I am leaving for Colorado early Friday morning for vacation!! I won't say WHERE in Colorado for the sake of staving off any creepy stalkers. Yes, I know you're there.
I'll be gone for a couple of days, and I know I will be missed absolutely terribly. I may write while I am away. I may draw. I know we're potentially going to an art museum, so if I come back with horrid spoofs on classical art done in my own ever-so-endearing style, well, it was their fault. You all will just have to pay for the consequences, by looking at said art, and squealing in mental and retinal pain. I'm sorry.
This being said, good bye to all my friends I don't get to speak to between now and twenty four hours from now! Because, there is no way in heck am I getting at five am to call you guys on Friday to say good bye!!! Tata, my darlings!!
Oh. And one more thing. YES, I will be in Colorado for the releasing of the last Harry Potter book. PLEASE be ever so kind to me about this. If you know me well at all, I will experience SERIOUS head trauma and possibly go into a coma if you ruin this for me in the smallest way. I know my own pain and suffering will tempt you, but keep in mind what a good friend I am that loans you all money!! T.T Of course, I already have a copy reserved. For the BAM here where I live. Not in Colorado. Hopefully I won't die.
So, good-bye again. Hopefully it won't be for good!! (And by this I mean, I hope I won't die in a car accident, and I hope some random stranger doesn't ruin HP for me. I will be forced to kill and eat them, and I would get in trouble for that! And I just wouldn't be able to survive in prison. I'm a goody two-shoes!!)

What a loverly day~
No, not a comic. No, not a little witch. (Will you please stop asking? I'll put a warning in the title if it's a little witch. I promise.)
No, this was just a bit of fun, because I noticed that I barely ever have Lali and Mugen in a scene together. So, they were my guinea pigs as I experimented with clothing styles, shading, and fun stuff like that in general. Started it late last night for lack of anything better to do... and pretty much finished it then, too. Admittedly, I did a lot of the shading AFTER I scanned it onto my computer about thirty minutes ago... but it looks better that way! I let my girliness run wild.
But, anyway, aren't the outfits cute?! ^-^ I bet Lali and Mugen just *love* them.
Oh... and on a side note... today, I did in fact design Ben's character, because I'm just a kind and considerate person like that. No, he won't be entering the comic for a while. (So THERE, Ben-- See? I stick to my plot designs and cannot be bribed!!) I just thought I'd just mention I had him all made up and named- mostly just to drive him nuts, though. He should be happy!! He's the first male character I've ever considered drawing with regularity into my comic.
The poor, poor soul...

Ouchie...
First of all, I fell off my bike. Again. It HURT. It's weird... usually I fall off once every couple of months, but my knee was just all nice and healed up from the LAST time, and suddenly I'm limping around with gauze on my knee again! Same one too. So, that hurts a lot. I'm surprised my mp3 player has survived all the falls... ((coincidently, it IS looking a little worse-for-the-wear)).
Secondly, Nicole is home again from grandmas! Which is... eh. I suppose I'm happy. Really! I guess. I missed her! Kind of. Either way, she's back, with tons of stuff from Springfield, Il, about President Lincoln. Why, you ask? Because she's already working on her HISTORY DAY project for NEXT year. This girl is psychotic. Grr.
That's all that happened, really... I went to the library, too, but that's less interesting and didn't cause me any serious physical or mental pain. So, that's all!! I need more gauze.
Ivy, out.

Lesson 5, Page 9
:D All joking aside, you'll notice that Mugen is finally out of the trunk. And, in apology for having poor Mugen locked up in humiliation for... roughly five comics, she magically gets a nifty haircut! The trunk fairies did it. They do hair-cuts a lot. Did you know that? ((Actually, you might have noticed Mugen ACTUALLY got the make-over around the fourth of july... but you probably didn't. :P Let's face it. None of you are that observant!!)) Personally, I think the trunk fairies did a splendid job.
And thus, the comic!! Clickie, for I am a link!!

It's a bird!! It's a plane!! ... No, it's a bird.
NO, it's not another Little Witch. I promised a very long time, didn't I?
Anyway, chances are you've seen the picture before, but I scanned it and uploaded it to Deviant. ((In about that order, too- I barely did anything to clean it up. I like how it looks. :D )) It's one of my favs, thus it gets a post, albeit a short one. So there!!
So, enjoy~~

My poor back...
So, I have been working pretty much nonstop since early this afternoon on a new comic. Yay!! But UGH. I started on a new notebook (which means different dimensions for the paper, but that doesn't really matter), so I decided to try something new. I've always felt that I've done my best art in simple pencil, no color and ink about it. For a lot of my comics, I've felt the pencil version looked good, then went to ink it, only to realize that some of the things I had liked had been lost in the process. T.T So, I decided, why not skip the inking part?
Well, on paper, the comic looks great. Me loves it. It's shaded, and has that lovely sketchy style that I like. So, I scanned it onto my computer... o.O Wow. I would like to stress that, once again, if it looks good on paper, that does NOT mean it looks good on your computer. Black on paper does not mean black on my computer. Fairly clean on paper does NOT mean fairly clean when scanned onto your computer. And, as I am a detail-fanatic, this is often lethal to my free time and my sanity.
What I'm wondering is, should I continue in the future? My original thought had been, "Hey, no inking means saved time!" Heh. No. The time I save NOT inking is used cleaning about fifteen times longer than usual on my computer. I love how it looks on paper. Now that I have it cleaned up, I think it looks pretty good on Deviant, too. But, I also have to keep in mind that half the reason I do this is for OTHER people's enjoyment. This means I need a second opinion. (If I even managed to express a first one in this muddled post... I'm not sure...) Does the comic look better than the ones I have inked? Is it worse? Do you really not give a flying rat's rear end either way? Please, tell me how insane I am. I'd love to know.
For your comicing enjoyment, voila!
Edit: Totally forgot to mention before. Idea for comic totally stolen from Arian. :D Thanks Arian!!
Wings off!

OF COURSE I'm PATRIOTIC
So, we hung out with gramma and got a late start on the fireworks- we have a LOT left over for tonight. Also, no one got burned, or died. They looked pretty against the lake.
Oh! :3 Best of all, when gramma leaves she's taking Midgit #1 back with her. ^-^ I love my sister. Really. But she will be gone a WHOLE WEEK. This is cool. Even if it means we have to do our own laundry.
Umm, let's see, what else... we got the badminton net out yesterday. THAT was fun. I am fairly decent at that game, as opposed to my usual partner, who is just short of useless. *cough*Midgit #1*coughcough* We also went swimming! And had steak fajitas. My dad makes the BEST steak.
And that's my holiday report! (For now) Ivy, out.

Wow. Am I really going to waste blog space on this...?
So, I made a rather stupid discovery today. At least, it's stupid to you all. Or, it will be when I get to the point. But! Often when you are in a forest, you have trouble seeing the trees around you like the people who are far away see them. :3 So, I discovered today I am obsessed with Tinkerbell.
...
YEAH. I see those looks. Shoosh. Let me explain!
We went to Kohl's for clothes (there was a sale. I needed clothes. Nix has been stealing my pants for a week, so I guess she needed clothes too. But who cares about her?), and, as usual, Kohl's had a new line of Tinkerbell shirts! Like, quite a few of them. One of them was pink, so it didn't count. But there were others!! And I liked those. They said things like, "What's not to love?" and, "Cute, adorable, jealous, pretty, sparkly, etc, etc," both emblazoned with Tinkerbell looking sickeningly cute. On a side note, I now have at least half a dozen Tinkerbell shirts, three or four Tinkerbell bags, and countless other Tinkerbell miscellaneous paraphernalia around my room.
So, NOW you're wondering what's wrong with me.
But, now I think I know WHY I adore Tinkerbell to such an unreasonable amount. Tinkerbell is a fairy who adores Peter Pan, the Boy Who Will Never Grow Up. Besides being compared to Marilyn Monroe, she's also got a sparkly pair of wings. (I don't.) The thing is, she's so small, she can only feel one thing at a time. Either she's all good, or all bad. All sweet, or all spiteful. Sometimes she's somewhere in between, going for a harmless fun angle, but I digress.
In case you haven't guessed, it was the last part. T.T I am a hopeless Tinkerbell fan because I am JUST like her.

Little Witches!!
In other news, though, I really love these piccies. :D I have an unreasonable love for my little witches. They're adorable!! I considered coloring them, but, as I have proven on multiple occasions, all my work looks better in grayscale. My attempts at coloring have rarely come out as wonderfully as I wanted. ((The one exception being, coincidently, my little witches...))
So, here they be (BOTH of them. That's right, you get two at once):

B O O M !!
I FEEL AWESOME!!
I got my bike back!! Sir Boa (yes, I named him Sir Boa) has new tires and rim, he's been fine tuned, and as his brakes were totally shot before, they've been replaced. :P I'm in super hyper happy scary mood!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D Feel happy for me!!!
Thursday, June 21, 2007
o.o Wow. A discovery!
So, some of you were probably wondering why I didn't post them here, and now I have an answer. Disregard the last paragraph. For one, the comics themselves were too large to look aesthetically pleasing on my blog. (It's true!) For two, I am shamelessly promoting my deviant art account. So there! It was all planned. Really.
